Questions
- Where can I download Microsoft Publisher?
- Microsoft Publisher is being discontinued and no new standalone installer is available for purchase or download. If you have a Microsoft 365 Business Standard or Premium subscription, Publisher may still be available through the M365 portal until October 13, 2026.
- Can I download Publisher for free?
- No. Publisher was only available as part of certain paid Microsoft 365 plans. There is no free download from Microsoft, and it was never offered as a standalone free product.
- Is there a Publisher installer I can use after it's discontinued?
- If you have an existing installation before the discontinuation date, you can keep it running (without support). No new installs will be available through M365 after October 13, 2026. Running unsupported software carries security risk over time.
- How do I open a .pub file without downloading Publisher?
- Upload it to Publish365 — it opens in your browser with no install required. LibreOffice Draw and Scribus are also free downloads that open .pub files natively, if you prefer a desktop application.
